Ad Hoc launched in early 2017 as a platform for collaboration between our associate-level attorneys and outside law practices. Law practices engage our attorneys on a project basis for legal research and writing. The concept emphasizes open communication and feedback so that working with us is like working with a traditional associate while only paying for what you need.
Why did we choose this? Of course we wanted a broad and rich learning experience to launch our own legal careers, but at the root, we just think this model makes sense for the industry. Managing workflow is a perennial problem for law practices, and hiring a traditional contract attorney can be unreliable and prohibitively expensive. We are addressing these problems by offering a reliable and sensible alternative that leverages an eager and dedicated workforce like us.
So, is it working? Yes, since our launch we have seen a steady increase in project hours. We have successfully completed numerous interesting projects and have maintained ongoing working relationships with nearly all of our hiring partners.
